Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Litigation & Risk Paralegal to join the Legal team in a hybrid Nashville role. You will work with in-house and outside counsel to manage personal injury matters, perform factual investigations, and coordinate information requests to keep legal operations efficient.

The position emphasizes collaboration and independent project leadership. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in litigation, plus a JD or Paralegal certificate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in litigation case management.
• JD or Paralegal certificate is required for this position.
• Preference for candidates with in-house or insurance claims handling experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, with ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships.
• Exceptionally organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and articulate.
• Ability to receive general direction and run projects independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
• Proficiency with Mac environment and Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Dropbox, Excel, Outlook and Word; familiarity with e-discovery tools.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with in-house and outside counsel to oversee personal injury litigation and pre-litigation matters.
• Independently conduct factual investigations and lead document collection for pre-litigation matters and filed lawsuits.
• Review and analyze records, memoranda, and summaries to inform case management decisions.
• Provide legal support to in-house attorneys and internal partners to ensure policy compliance.
• Help define procedures to promote efficient legal workflows and handling of requests.
• Proactively improve processes to scale Lyft’s legal operations amid growth.
• Maintain governance of existing processes and strategies.
• Liaise with internal and external counsel on a day-to-day basis.
• Lead projects within a broader legal strategy in collaboration with team members.
