Job summary

DLA Piper in Washington, DC, is seeking a BD & Marketing Specialist to support the business development and marketing efforts of the assigned practice group. This role collaborates with BD managers, lawyers, and cross-functional colleagues to drive client outreach and day‑to‑day marketing activity.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow in a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in marketing or business development within professional services or law firms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and collaboration with attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of BD and marketing initiatives for the practice group.
• Assist with competitive intelligence requests and summaries.
• Prepare client-facing materials, presentations, and marketing collateral.
• Collaborate with BD team and lawyers on pitches, proposals, and credentials.
• Maintain CRM records and pull reports/dashboards as needed.
• Coordinate events, webinars, and sponsor activities; track RSVPs and follow-up.
• Support onboarding activities for new lawyers from a BD/marketing perspective.
• Monitor marketing budgets and assist with administrative coordination.
