Orion Placement is seeking a senior insurance defense attorney to lead complex professional liability matters from evaluation through trial, applying seasoned judgment from day one.

This role is remote statewide in Florida, serving sophisticated insurers and institutional clients; Florida Bar admission and 8+ years of professional liability defense experience required.

Qualifications

• Strong litigation, case strategy, written advocacy, deposition, and negotiation skills are required.
• Ability to independently manage a sophisticated litigation caseload.
• Experience representing insurers or institutional clients in contested matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex professional liability insurance defense matters from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.
• Develop litigation strategies, evaluate exposure, and provide clear recommendations to clients.
• Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Manage matters independently while collaborating with attorneys and support professionals as needed.
• Communicate directly with insurance carriers, corporate clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Apply senior-level judgment to high-value and technically complex claims.
• Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality work.
• Contribute to the growth and success of an established insurance defense practice.

• Experience representing insurers, institutional clients, or businesses in contested matters.
• Excellent client communication and professional judgment.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
