Orion Placement is seeking a senior insurance defense attorney to lead complex professional liability matters for insurers and institutional clients. This statewide remote role requires Florida Bar admission, 8+ years of pro liability defense experience, and the ability to manage high-stakes litigation with autonomy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional liability insurance defense experience.
• Strong litigation, strategy, written advocacy, deposition and negotiation skills.
• JD from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex professional liability insurance defense matters from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.
• Develop litigation strategies, evaluate exposure, and provide clear recommendations to sophisticated clients.
• Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Manage matters independently while collaborating with attorneys and support professionals as needed.
• Communicate directly with insurance carriers, corporate clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Apply senior-level judgment to high-value and technically complex claims.
• Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and consistently high-quality legal work.
• Contribute to the continued growth and success of an established insurance defense practice.
