Job summary

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from pre-trial to post-trial, including discovery and document management.

The role requires 5+ years of paralegal experience, strong organizational and proofreading skills, mastery of Westlaw and Relativity, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Detail oriented with strong proofreading skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices.
• Ability to apply understanding and knowledge of the litigation process from pretrial to post-trial.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys during the litigation process, including pre-claim investigations and trial prep.
• Draft routine court documents such as notices of appearance and subpoenas.
• Maintain attorney calendars and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Manage hard copy and electronic case files and prepare deposition and trial binders.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other sources.
• Assist with document production, including review, redaction, and Bates labeling.
• Cite-check briefs, motions, and supporting authorities for accuracy.
• Organize, analyze, summarize, and index documents and exhibits.
• Coordinate discovery and track deadlines; prepare privilege logs.
• Assist with deposition preparation and coordination with court reporters.
• Maintain eDiscovery protocols and Relativity databases with the eDiscovery team.
• Organize deposition databases using Opus2 and other litigation platforms.
• Prepare medical and other records summaries for malpractice and wrongful death claims.
• Coordinate expert witness retention and preparation.
