Job summary

Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas, LLP in New Brunswick, NJ seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across commercial litigation matters, from case inception through trial and appeal. The role requires high organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in construction or commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and discovery processes.
• Experience managing large document-intensive cases and e-discovery platforms.
• Familiarity with construction industry documents (contracts, subcontracts, schedules, RFIs, change orders, payments).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all stages of litigation from case inception through trial and appeal.
• Draft, review, file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence.
• Manage large volumes of case documents including contracts, project records, invoices, and schedules.
• Coordinate document production, e-discovery, and review processes.
• Assist with discovery responses, deposition preparation, witness coordination, and exhibit management.
• Summarize depositions, expert reports, and other materials.
• Conduct factual investigations and legal research using online databases and public records.
• Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and court filings in state and federal courts.
• Coordinate with clients, experts, consultants, insurers, and opposing counsel.
• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and witness files for hearings and trials.
• Track construction project documentation and timelines to support litigation strategy.
• Assist with billing entries and matter management as needed.
