Job summary

Omega Law Group, a prestigious personal injury law firm, seeks a Litigation Paralegal to support ongoing personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive with exceptional research, organizational skills, and strong legal drafting and communication.

You will draft and file pleadings, manage discovery, coordinate depositions, and assist attorneys at trial. The role requires experience in civil litigation, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under deadline

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in civil litigation paralegal work, preference for personal injury.
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate or related bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure; familiarity with court rules.
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and file pleadings with accuracy and deadlines.
  • Propound discovery and serve properly; e-service included.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and documents.
  • Respond to discovery with appropriate objections.
  • Draft and format other discovery tools (depositions, requests, etc.).
  • Organize and manage case files and folders.
  • Communicate with handling attorney, clients, experts, witnesses about status and deadlines.
  • Participate in department and team meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, and events.
  • Assist with expert designation and expert file coordination; support trial prep.
  • Provide support during trial with exhibits and witness examination.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Join our distinguished legal team as a Litigation Paralegal, where you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic legal proceedings, especially focusing on personal injury litigation. As the ideal candidate, you should be a proactive individual possessing exemplary research capabilities, organizational acumen, legal drafting proficiency, and exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and file pleadings while maintaining accuracy, compliance with legal formatting requirements, and adherence to deadline.
  • Propound discovery in a timely manner, with proper case captions, and proofs of service. Discovery is served properly and e-service is included.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to gather all relevant information and documents. Review and analyze files and records to extract important information.
  • Respond to discovery requests in a timely manner and use appropriate objections when needed. Provide substantive responses that balance maximizing the client’s case value and privacy interests.
  • Properly draft and format other discovery tools, including, but not limited to, deposition notices, requests for vehicle inspections, responses to demands for medical examinations, etc. Review incoming subpoenas for appropriate limitations. Discovery documents are served timely.
  • Efficiently organize and manage case files, including but not limited to properly naming and saving all pleadings, discovery, evidence, expert related documents in the appropriate folders.
  • Actively communicate with all relevant parties, including but not limited to, the handling attorney, clients, experts, witnesses, and etc about case status, upcoming deadlines, and time sensitive issues.
  • Actively participate and is well prepared during department and team meetings.
  • Schedule and oversee the coordination of depositions, hearings, and other case-related events.
  • Assist with expert designation and the coordination of expert files to and from our office, experts, and defense. Provide assistance in all aspects of trial preparation, including, but not limited to, managing witness subpoenas, preparing trial binders, coordinating with experts, and ensuring compliance with all local and courtroom rules regarding trial preparation.
  • Provide valuable support to attorneys during trial, including assistance with exhibits and the examination of witnesses to enhance case presentation.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 year of experience as a civil litigation paralegal, with a preference for experience in personal injury law
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Proficient in utilizing legal research tools and case management software
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills
  • Competent in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and thriving under pressure
  • Well-versed in state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
Compensation

$25 to $45 per hour
