As a Litigation Paralegal, you will support the firm's litigation practice, manage deadlines, draft pleadings and motions, and help cases move through the court process. This role is ideal for someone with litigation experience who is highly organized and able to prioritize a heavy caseload.

Qualifications

  • Prior paralegal or litigation experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field preferred; equivalent legal experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, court procedures, and legal terminology.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to elevate issues or seek attorney guidance.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn legal and case-management technology.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the team wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor assigned litigation files throughout the legal process.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents for attorney review and filing.
  • Review case files and documentation to ensure required information is complete and accurate.
  • Monitor court deadlines, hearing dates, filing requirements, and other time-sensitive case activity.
  • Review answers, appearances, motions, court orders, and other documents received on active cases and take appropriate follow-up action.
  • Prepare cases and supporting documentation for hearings and other court proceedings.
  • Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, consumers, clients, vendors, and other parties as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, statuses, documents, and activity within the firm's case management system.
  • Conduct court docket research and review case activity when necessary.
  • Identify and elevate unusual, contested, or complex matters to the appropriate attorney.
  • Follow established client requirements, firm procedures, and applicable court rules.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal support staff, and other departments to resolve issues and keep cases progressing.
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other litigation-related responsibilities as needed.
