Job summary

Stenger & Stenger P.C. in Grand Rapids seeks a Litigation Paralegal to support the firm's litigation practice and move cases efficiently through the process. You will manage deadlines, draft pleadings, and coordinate with attorneys to ensure accuracy and timely filing.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field is preferred; equivalent legal experience will be considered.
• Strong understanding of litigation processes, court procedures, and legal terminology.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues to attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor assigned litigation files throughout the legal process.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents for attorney review and filing.
• Review case files and documentation to ensure required information is complete and accurate.
• Monitor court deadlines, hearing dates, filing requirements, and other time-sensitive case activity.
• Review documents received on active cases and take appropriate follow-up action.
• Prepare cases and supporting documentation for hearings and other court proceedings.
• Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, consumers, clients, vendors, and other parties as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate case notes, statuses, documents, and activity within the firm's case management system.
