Htprof in Hartford, CT seeks a Litigation Paralegal to support General Liability and Professional Liability matters. The role covers litigation support, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

You will manage case files, calendars, document management, and coordinate with clients, courts, and outside counsel. 1–3 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of litigation experience as a paralegal or legal secretary.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF software.
• Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation from inception through resolution.
• Manage and organize case files, databases, and electronic document management systems.
• Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including court dates, discovery deadlines, and internal case milestones.
• Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and outside counsel regarding case status and procedural matters.
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses.
• Organize document productions and assist with document review.
• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
• Manage electronic documents and case databases using applicable legal technology and document management systems.
• Assist with creating PowerPoint presentations and other case-related materials.
• Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas throughout the litigation process.
• Follow up with providers and other parties to obtain records needed to support litigation matters.
• Monitor subpoena compliance and coordinate document production.
• Track service, responses, and outstanding records to ensure applicable deadlines are met.
• Support motion practice and trial preparation.
• Prepare exhibits, witness materials, trial binders, and other materials required for hearings and trials.
• Coordinate court filings and assist attorneys with preparation for legal proceedings.
• Attend hearings and trials with attorneys on an occasional basis.
• Coordinate filings, discovery, scheduling, and other litigation-related activities.
• Assist attorneys with organizing and preparing materials for case strategy and proceedings.
• Work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Provide reliable, professional, and collaborative support to the litigation team.
