Job summary

SGI Global is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Michigan.

The role involves aiding investigation and prosecution under the USAO's Affine Civil Enforcement program and collaborating with AUSAs to manage case data and discovery. The ideal candidate has at least an undergraduate degree and experience with electronic document review platforms and litigation technology tools, including Eclipse, Relativity, Concordance, Sanction and Trial

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree is preferred.
• 2 years of experience using electronic document review platforms such as Eclipse and Relativity in the context of litigation.
• 2 years of experience using document management and presentation platforms such as Concordance, Sanction and Trial Director in the context of litigation or trials.
• Technical background with computers, scanners, and data storage devices and equipment.
• Knowledge of current litigation technology tools and processes, such as document imaging, database management and design, OCR, e-discovery.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and guidance to decide handling of data and records.
• Organize and maintain documents and evidence for efficient automated storage and retrieval.
• Create and administer document review databases and ensure timely access to content.
• Collect, process, cull, load, organize, index, log, track, produce and present case data using software.
• Utilize tools to extract file information and place data into review platforms.
• Create reports to track electronic discovery processing and production.
• Draft and review technical specifications for production requests and responses.
• Review and analyze documents produced in investigations and discovery.
• Monitor compliance with litigation hold requirements.
• Assist AUSAs with presentations and trial using software and AV equipment.
• Maintain expertise on available e-discovery and litigation support systems.
• Work with law firms to resolve technical questions and ensure timely document productions.
• Build and maintain relationships with USAO staff.
