Job summary

Arch Law Group in Middletown, CT is seeking a General/Litigation Paralegal with a solid background in litigation, discovery, and case management to support attorneys through all phases of the process. The ideal candidate will handle intakes, scheduling, document gathering, e-filing, and drafting correspondence and pleadings, with Land Use/Real Estate knowledge a plus.

Experience with LEAP, Clio, Filevine, or MyCase is beneficial, along with LexisNexis research.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years proven work experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Knowledge of public records, including land records, motions, discovery, court rules and procedures.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
• Paralegal associates degree or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft and e-file pleadings with the court, with certification to parties.
• Research public records, including land records, municipal records, GIS mapping and other governmental records.
• Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.).
• Maintain pleadings, discovery and return of record indexes.
• Prepare notices of deposition and requests for discovery.
• Organize exhibits, records and other documents; aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
• Liaise between attorneys and internal/external third parties.
• Provide assistance with trial preparations and settlement.
• Navigate legal practice management software such as LEAP, Clio, Filevine, or MyCase.
• Conduct legal research using LexisNexis
