Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced paralegal to support litigation and casualty matters in New Haven, CT. The role focuses on obtaining and reviewing documents, building comprehensive chronologies, and preparing trial notebooks and exhibits for trial readiness.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of paralegal experience in litigation, a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, and preferably an ABA‑approved paralegal certificate.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of litigation/casualty paralegal experience.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required.
• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining, reviewing, and analyzing documents, including medical, financial, tax, and employment records.
• Creating detailed medical and factual chronologies.
• Preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness files.
• Compiling evidence through discovery documents, transcripts, records, libraries, and databases.
• Managing and organizing electronic and physical case files.
• Coordinating with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and support services.
• Generating status reports, logs, and case indexes.
• Corresponding with clients and opposing law firms.
• Conducting legal and medical research, including review of expert materials.
• Communicating with experts and analyzing their qualifications, prior testimony, transcripts, and publications.
• Performing additional duties as needed.
