Job summary

FSA Federal is seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant II to support the USAO in the Eastern District of Washington. This full-time role in Seattle involves reviewing case material, drafting and editing documents, trial preparation, witness interviews, and legal research.

Qualifications include a Paralegal Certificate or a high school diploma with 2+ years’ related experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal databases. U.S.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience in a law office or government setting.
• Trial and automated litigation support experience preferred.
• Ability to grasp and understand the organization and functions of the customer.
• Knowledge to conduct basic legal research, including standard legal citation.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including legal writing skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and legal databases.

Responsibilities

• Assists attorney in reviewing case material, including digesting decisions and legal references.
• Drafts, edits, and reviews non-legal information and creates correspondence and reports.
• Helps prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and creating statistical charts.
• Interviews potential witnesses and prepares summary reports.
• Reviews legal documents to confirm citations and references.
• Attends pre-trial meetings and requests further information to correct deficiencies.
• Prepares summaries of testimony/depositions after/during trial.
• Investigates facts and laws, researches public records, and prepares case materials.
