Job summary

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP in Irvine seeks a Litigation Paralegal to provide substantive litigation support across pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation. Under supervision of the Associate Director of Paralegals, you will manage case files, deadlines, and document review with AI-enabled tools.

The role requires 5–8 years in a large law firm, Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certificate or equivalent experience considered.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of substantive litigation paralegal experience in a large fast-paced law firm environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certificate or equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Experience with OnCue, Clearbrief, Everlaw, Legora, and/or other litigation, e-discovery, AI-enabled legal technology.
• Ability to work overtime with little notice.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use litigation and legal technology.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, briefs, and appellate documents.
• Manage litigation matters throughout the case lifecycle, including case files, deadlines, calendars, work plans, and status reporting.
• Manage complex document collections using firm-approved technology, including Everlaw, and assist with electronic discovery, document review, and production.
• Assist with all phases of trial preparation and attendance, including witness preparation, exhibit and deposition designation management, trial logistics, courtroom technology, and coordination of vendors.
• Use firm-approved AI-enabled legal tools to support research, document analysis, chronology development, drafting, and workflow efficiency, while verifying outputs and protecting confidential information.
• Conduct legal and factual research using Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, and other approved online resources.
• Perform cite checking, fact checking, and related quality control review.
• Manage discovery requests and responses, including subpoenas, interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Coordinate with clients, attorneys, colleagues, experts, vendors, and other parties to support efficient case management and client service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
