Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling Med Mal and Personal Injury matters. The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, familiarity with civil litigation procedure, and the ability to manage multiple case deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include drafting and filing pleadings, organizing medical records, coordinating depositions and trial prep, and maintaining e-filing compliance in state and federal courts.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent litigation paralegal experience required
  • 5+ years of Med Mal, Personal Injury or civil litigation paralegal experience
  • Trial prep and trial experience
  • Proficiency with case management software (Filevine, Litify, Needles, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks independently
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage case files throughout the litigation process
  • Draft, file, and serve pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents
  • Request and organize medical records, bills, police reports, and other case-related documentation
  • Prepare demand packages and assist with pre-litigation settlement negotiations
  • Calendar and track statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and discovery due dates
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, and trial preparation, including exhibit and witness organization
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
  • Conduct legal research and cite-check pleadings and briefs as needed
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including trial notebooks and witness/exhibit lists
  • Maintain compliance with e-filing procedures in state and federal courts
