Job description

ALAW, an established, multi-state real estate and creditors’ rights law firm, is seeking a qualified Foreclosure Paralegal to join the team. This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, and a full benefits package.

Responsibilities
Legal Research and Documentation
  • Conduct thorough legal research related to foreclosure laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting and preparing legal documents such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Review and analyze foreclosure documents, contracts, and financial records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all necessary documents are properly filed and organized.
Case Management and Support
  • Collaborate with attorneys to manage a high volume of foreclosure, eviction and collections cases from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate with clerks, judge’s offices, opposing counsel, and in‑house attorneys to schedule hearings, trials, mediations, and other appearances.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progression.
  • Prepare and distribute legal correspondence, notices, and other communications as required.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances, hearings, and trials by organizing evidence, exhibits, and other case materials.
  • Maintain and update case management systems to track deadlines, court dates, and case developments.
Client Relations
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, providing updates on case status and addressing inquiries.
  • Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary documentation and information for foreclosure proceedings.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of client information throughout the case process.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
  • Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices related to creditors’ rights and foreclosure.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of case files and documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, preferably in the area of creditors’ rights.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research using various resources and platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information in a professional manner.
