THE POSITION:

Our firm is seeking to hire a detail oriented and highly organized paralegal to join our insurance defense litigation practice in NY. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation support experience, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a collaborative legal team representing a client base primarily composed of insurance companies, and their insureds. Responsibilities for the paralegal will include but may not be limited to:

• Organize and manage case files, documents and evidence.
• Conduct legal research to assist attorneys in case strategy and preparation.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence and discovery requests.
• Assist in the discovery process, including document collection, organization and coordination of depositions.
• Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders and assist during trial proceedings.
• Manage electronic filing of court documents, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Maintain and manage court deadlines, hearings and attorney schedules.
• Utilize legal software and databases for research, document management and case tracking.
• Provide administrative assistance to attorneys, including scheduling, travel arrangements and expense record maintenance.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of client information and sensitive case materials.
• Stay updated on legal regulations and maintain adherence to ethical guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
• Paralegal certification required (ABA-approved preferred)

Experience:

A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a litigation support role (insurance defense preferred).

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency with Office 365
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively with time-sensitive materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
