Litigation Paralegal – Medical Malpractice Defense
Role Description
An established defense litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with strong medical malpractice defense experience, including pre-suit medical malpractice cases, to join their team. This is a timekeeper position requiring accurate reporting of billable hours in accordance with client guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and responses.
- Communicate professionally with clients.
- Review medical records and prepare medical chronologies.
- Prepare non-party record subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- E-file documents in state and federal courts.
- Locate and coordinate with expert witnesses.
- Prepare cases for witness interviews, depositions, mediations, and trial.
- Track and report billable time accurately.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, especially related to medical malpractice statutes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat or other PDF programs.
