Job summary

Vernis & Bowling's Atlanta office is seeking paralegals to join our team. We are a fast-paced insurance defense firm.

The ideal paralegal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of insurance defense experience, although training is available for the right candidates. Key duties include summarizing records, scheduling couriers and witnesses, researching statutes and decisions, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and assisting in trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Summarizes records and court files.
• Schedule couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses and other functions.
• Research sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and public records.
• Drafts, prepares and performs limited reviews of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, discovery materials, appeals and contracts.
• Assists in trial preparation and discovery practices, including gathering and organizing exhibits and documents in response to subpoenas and discovery requests.
• Acts as a limited liaison between counsel, clients, experts, witnesses, third parties and other contacts.
• Maintain attorney’s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions.
