We are seeking an experiencedLitigation Paralegal to join our Labor & Employment practice. This position will work closely with attorneys on all phases of complex employment litigation, from initial case assessment and discovery through depositions, trial preparation, appeals, and post-trial proceedings.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented legal professional who can independently manage multiple priorities, anticipate case needs, and take ownership of litigation support responsibilities with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with initial case reviews, case evaluations, and litigation strategy.
- Prepare case chronologies, cast of characters, pleadings, answers, and other litigation documents.
- Coordinate discovery requests, responses, document collections, productions, and related deadlines.
- Manage deposition logistics, including scheduling, preparation, exhibits, summaries, and subpoenas.
- Maintain litigation databases, electronic case files, and document management systems.
- Conduct witness searches, factual investigations, and case-related research.
- Review, organize, and summarize employment, medical, and other complex records.
- Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, jury instructions, and motions in limine.
- Provide support during jury selection and trial presentations.
- Conduct legal and medical research, cite-checking, and Shepardizing.
- Maintain accurate case files and records in accordance with firm standards.
- Assist attorneys with appeals and post-trial proceedings.
- Monitor litigation deadlines and proactively communicate upcoming requirements.
- Perform additional litigation support responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- 3–10+ years of paralegal experience, preferably supporting complex litigation.
- Experience within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Background in litigation, labor & employment, class action defense, or complex commercial litigation preferred.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Ability to work independently while effectively supporting multiple attorneys.
- Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage document-intensive matters.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing deadlines and anticipate attorney needs.
- Trial experience is highly preferred.
