Litigation Paralegal
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys within a high-volume litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional organizational and case management skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
This role will support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from initial case development and discovery through trial preparation and resolution. Experience reviewing medical records, preparing medical summaries, and supporting general liability matters is highly preferred.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and effective prioritization are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation & Trial Support: Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation and trial preparation, including preparation for and attendance at trials when needed.
- Trial Preparation: Organize evidence, prepare exhibits, coordinate witnesses, and assist with trial logistics and other trial-related activities.
- Pleadings & Discovery: Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, records release authorizations, and other litigation documents.
- Discovery Management: Manage all aspects of discovery, including document production, medical record analysis, privilege logs, deposition coordination, and tracking discovery deadlines.
- Medical Record Review: Review and analyze medical records, prepare concise medical summaries, and identify additional treatment providers or potentially relevant records.
- Case Investigation: Conduct factual investigations, gather relevant information and documentation, and assist attorneys in developing case strategy.
- Legal Research: Conduct factual and legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, PACER, and other applicable research platforms.
- E-Discovery: Assist with the collection, organization, review, processing, and production of electronically stored information.
- Case Management: Maintain organized case files, litigation databases, calendars, deadlines, and other case-related records.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Maintain professional communication with attorneys, clients, witnesses, experts, vendors, medical providers, and other case participants.
- Administrative Support: Assist with billing, document organization, correspondence, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities necessary to support efficient case management.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, legal assistants, and support professionals to ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are consistently met.

This position is part of a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment where the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure is essential.
The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals and will have significant responsibility for maintaining case organization, coordinating litigation activities, and ensuring that critical deadlines and deliverables are properly managed.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume litigation environment.
- Experience supporting litigation matters from inception through trial.
- Four-year degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Excellent organizational and case management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters and competing deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records.
- Experience preparing detailed and concise medical summaries.
- General liability litigation experience.
- Experience supporting insurance defense matters.
- Familiarity with e-discovery processes and electronically stored information.
- Experience with PACER, Relativity, Adobe Acrobat, Trial Director, billing software, and litigation/case management systems.
- Experience coordinating depositions, witnesses, experts, and trial logistics.
- Familiarity with LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research platforms.
