Talnt is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a sophisticated commercial litigation practice in New York state and federal courts. This hybrid, full-time role demands strong litigation support, document management, and trial preparation from inception through trial.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of paralegal experience, NY court filing expertise, and proficiency with electronic filing, e-discovery platforms, and document management systems.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal degree preferred; ABA-certified certificate highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in litigation paralegal roles, focusing on commercial matters.
  • Experience filing electronically in New York state and federal courts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support for complex commercial litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal.
  • Prepare, review, file, and serve legal documents in New York State and Federal Courts using electronic filing systems.
  • Draft and organize pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, exhibits, and other litigation documents for attorney review.
  • Prepare filing-ready briefs, ensuring accurate formatting, hyperlinking, bookmarking, tables of contents, tables of authorities, and compliance with court rules.
  • Create, verify, and maintain hyperlinks within electronic court filings and legal briefs.
  • Perform document redactions, Bates numbering, and electronic document preparation for productions and court filings.
  • Coordinate and manage large-scale document productions, discovery responses, and electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Organize, maintain, and manage complex electronic and physical litigation files throughout the litigation lifecycle.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery management, deposition preparation, witness files, exhibit organization, and trial preparation.
  • Coordinate court filings, service of process, scheduling, and litigation deadlines.
  • Conduct legal and factual research using legal research platforms and litigation databases.
  • Maintain litigation calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines, scheduling orders, and procedural requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, vendors, opposing counsel, and litigation support providers.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to support efficient case management and exceptional client service.

Litigation Paralegal

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a sophisticated Commercial Litigation practice handling complex business disputes in New York state and federal courts. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with extensive commercial litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently manage litigation support responsibilities from case inception through trial.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience with New York court filings, document management, discovery support, and trial preparation. Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters independently are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive litigation support for complex commercial litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal.

  • Extensive experience filing documents electronically in New York State Courts and Federal Courts.
  • Strong experience preparing briefs, exhibits, appendices, tables of contents, tables of authorities, and electronic court filings.
  • Proficiency with hyperlink creation, electronic document formatting, bookmarking, redactions, and Bates stamping.
  • Experience managing complex litigation files, document productions, and discovery materials.
  • Strong understanding of New York court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation workflows.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, and litigation support software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting complex commercial, business, financial, or real estate litigation.
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms, Relativity, Everlaw, or similar litigation support software.
  • Trial preparation experience, including exhibit management, witness preparation, and courtroom support.
  • Familiarity with document review workflows and large-scale electronic discovery projects.
  • Experience utilizing iManage, NetDocuments, or comparable document management systems.
  • Notary Public certification is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring junior paralegals or legal assistants.
