Job summary

NewCo Capital Group is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our in-house legal and collections team in New York City. The role focuses on day‑to‑day handling of litigation, including motions, discovery, petitions, complaints, and correspondence with courts.

The Paralegal will partner with attorneys to implement litigation and collections strategies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in civil litigation, judgment enforcement, and collections.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in litigation or in-house legal departments.
• Strong communication with attorneys, law firm personnel and court employees.
• Experience with motion practice, discovery and legal drafting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents for the in-house legal team.
• Track lawsuits from commencement through judgment.
• Assist with motion practice, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Facilitate document requests from courts and third parties.
• Monitor case inventory and execute strategies among active cases.
• Communicate with external counsel, courts, and third parties.
• Track communications and matter statuses with precision.
• Review invoices for accuracy and payment.
• Coordinate with internal team members and legal managers.
• Learn and use internal CRM and reporting systems.
• Perform general administrative and mailing duties.

About the Role

The role focuses on the day-to-day handling of litigation, including motions, discovery, petitions, complaints, communicating and corresponding with the courts, judgments and more. The Paralegal will partner with the company's attorneys and legal staff to implement litigation and collections strategies. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in civil litigation, judgment enforcement, and collections. This is a collaborative, detail-oriented role that works closely with the legal team and external partners. This is a full‑time, on‑site role.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of legal documents for the company’s in‑house legal team
• Tracking lawsuits from commencement, through litigation and to judgment
• Motion practice, discovery and other litigation documents
• Facilitate fulfilling document requests from courts and third parties
• Assist in monitoring case inventory and execute strategies among active cases
• Communicate consistently with external counsel, courts, and third parties
• Track communications, follow‑ups, and matter statuses with precision
• Review invoices for accuracy and payment
• Coordinate with internal team members and legal managers
• Learn and utilize internal CRM and reporting systems
• Perform administrative and mailing duties as required

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience required
• Prior experience working at a law firm or in‑house legal department required
• Prior experience with Merchant cash advance or factoring companies preferred
