Job summary

Express Recruiting Group is assisting a plaintiffs-side litigation firm in Sherman Oaks seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal. The role focuses on handling personal injury and property damage matters from pre-litigation through trial preparation.

Candidate will manage multiple cases, draft and file documents, coordinate discovery, and track deadlines in California state courts, with strong organizational skills and ABA-approved paralegal certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in plaintiff-side matters.
• Strong knowledge of California state court rules and procedures.
• Experience with California e-filing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury and property damage matters through all phases of pre-litigation and litigation.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files in the firm's case management systems.
• Draft, file, and serve complaints, answers, motions, notices, and related pleadings.
• Track and maintain litigation deadlines, court dates, discovery deadlines, and other critical dates.
• Prepare and manage written discovery and subpoenas; coordinate production of documents.
• Assist attorneys with motions, oppositions, and trial-related filings.
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and vendors.
• Review medical records, billing records, accident reports, and related documents.
• Support trial preparation and assist during mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trial proceedings.

ERG is working with a growing and established plaintiff-side litigation firm in Sherman Oaks in seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its team. The ideal candidate will have strong personal injury and property damage litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage cases from pre-litigation through trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury and property damage matters through all phases of pre-litigation and litigation.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files within the firm's case management systems.
• Draft, file, and serve legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, notices, and related pleadings.
• Track and maintain litigation deadlines, court dates, discovery deadlines, and other critical dates through calendaring systems.
• Prepare, propound, respond to, and manage written discovery.
• Coordinate document production and records collection.
• Prepare and issue subpoenas, deposition notices, and related discovery documents.
• Assist attorneys with drafting and filing motions, oppositions, and replies.
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and third-party vendors.
• Review and organize medical records, billing records, accident reports, and other case-related documents.
• Support trial preparation.
• Assist attorneys during mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trial proceedings as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Significant experience handling Personal Injury and/or Property Damage matters.
• Strong knowledge of California state court rules and procedures.
• Experience with e-filing in California courts.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
• Experience managing high-volume litigation caseloads.
