Job description

As a Paralegal, you will collaborate directly with the attorneys in alliantgroup’s General Counsel Office to advocate the needs of the business. Alliant is a national premier consulting firm focused on providing solutions to help businesses transform and thrive. Alliant offers six different service lines to our clients and this role potentially supports all service lines.

Responsibilities

• Work hand-in-hand with a team of attorneys and paralegals to manage and prepare cases for trial
• Draft various pleadings, motions, stipulations, and discovery
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Participate in client interviews, witness preparation, and other trial preparations
• Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and draft legal memorandum for use in briefing
• Draft formal written responses to discovery requests
• Demonstrate advocacy skills and aptitude for learning new concepts and procedures
• Communicate with courts
• Manage discovery and trial deadlines
• Work with alliantgroup professionals, as needed, to run a multi-national consulting firm
• Address matters from business relationships to employee matters

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience
• Experience with preparing/obtaining records, assembling exhibits, pleadings, summarizing transcripts, discovery, and trial preparation
• Experience drafting and responding to standard discovery demands (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.)
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Effective at working in a team environment
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Relativity is a plus but is not required
• Willingness to travel when necessary
• Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX
