Legal Search Solutions has partnered with a highly regarded regional law firm to identify an experienced General Liability Paralegal for its downtown Fort Lauderdale office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated litigation practice at a well-established firm. The position is focused on substantive, billable paralegal work, with a particular emphasis on discovery and hands‑on case support. The firm offers a hybrid remote schedule following an initial onboarding period.
Position Overview
The General Liability Paralegal will work closely with attorneys throughout the litigation process, taking an active role in discovery, case development, deposition preparation, and trial support. The ideal candidate will have strong Florida litigation experience and be comfortable independently handling higher-level paralegal responsibilities across multiple active matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and assist with all phases of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses.
- Review, analyze, and organize documents and other case materials for production and attorney review.
- Prepare case chronologies, summaries, and other substantive work product.
- Assist with preparation of pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other litigation documents.
- Coordinate and assist with depositions, including preparation of exhibits, witness materials, and case documentation.
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and other relevant records as needed.
- Assist attorneys with factual investigation and overall case development.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and third‑party vendors.
- Monitor case deadlines and assist with maintaining compliance with discovery and court requirements.
- Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, witness files, and other materials for hearings and trial.
- Provide substantive litigation and trial support as matters progress toward resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably within a general liability or insurance defense practice.
- Strong experience with discovery and other substantive, billable paralegal responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of Florida state and federal court procedures and civil litigation processes.
- Ability to independently manage assignments and deadlines across multiple active matters.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management systems, and litigation technology.
- Salary: $85,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience.
