Vantage Legal Services is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a boutique plaintiff litigation firm located near Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. This is an in-office position.

This is an opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal who wants to take meaningful ownership of complex, high-value cases. The firm maintains a selective caseload, all valued at $1 million or more, involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, sex trafficking litigation, product liability, premises liability, construction and industrial injuries, and commercial vehicle collisions.

The ideal candidate is not simply task-oriented. The firm is looking for someone who knows their cases, anticipates what attorneys will need, identifies problems before they become urgent, and takes responsibility for keeping cases moving forward.

About the Firm

This is a small, highly collaborative plaintiff litigation firm consisting of the firm owner, five additional attorneys, a litigation paralegal, and a firm administrator. Must have experience handling cases in Georgia and Federal courts.

Because this is a small firm handling sophisticated litigation, the paralegal will have substantial responsibility and regular interaction with clients, attorneys, experts, investigators, and court personnel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor active litigation files from intake through trial.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments, medical treatment, employment changes, and other relevant information.
• Conduct client intake for serious injury, wrongful death, and sex trafficking matters.
• Build strong relationships with clients who may require significant communication, follow-up, empathy, and patience throughout litigation.
• Obtain and manage medical records, bills, death certificates, autopsy reports, police records, 911 calls, body-camera and dash-camera footage, investigative files, inspection records, and other evidence.
• Prepare and track open records and FOIA requests.
• Assist with pre-suit investigation, including identifying property owners, witnesses, corporate information, photographs, surveillance footage, electronic data, and other potentially time-sensitive evidence.
• Prepare preservation and spoliation letters for attorney review and track responses.
• Coordinate inspections involving accident scenes, vehicles, products, equipment, or property.
• Work with investigators, experts, and process servers.
• Assist with preparing discovery responses, including communicating with client and organizing document production.
• Review incoming discovery and identify missing documents, inconsistencies, admissions, witness information, and other issues requiring attorney attention.
• Track discovery served, received, answered, supplemented, and outstanding.
• E-file pleadings in Georgia state and federal courts using PeachCourt, Odyssey, File & Serve, PACER/ECF, and other applicable filing systems.
• Draft subpoenas, deposition notices, and other documents for attorney review.
• Prepare shells for discovery responses, dispositive motions, and other substantive filings.
• Manage service of process for lawsuits and subpoenas.
• Independently calendar and monitor litigation deadlines, including deadlines arising from court orders, scheduling orders, discovery, motions, and federal court requirements.
• Coordinate depositions, including court reporters, videographers, subpoenas, witnesses, conference rooms, travel, transcripts, and exhibit materials.
• Coordinate mediations and prepare mediation materials, lien searches, and client logistics.
• Assist with trial preparation, including trial notebooks, witness and exhibit materials, deposition designations, subpoenas, experts, travel, and courtroom logistics.
• Assist with settlement documentation, releases, liens, case expenses, and file closing.
• Perform detailed quality-control review of pleadings, exhibits, PDFs, captions, case numbers, signatures, certificates of service, and filed documents.
• Use the firm's AI tools to assist with medical chronologies, deposition summaries, witness charts, document summaries, and other litigation support projects, while verifying output against source documents.
• Proactively monitor assigned files, follow up on unresolved issues, and anticipate what will be needed for upcoming depositions, mediations, expert deadlines, hearings, and trials.

Qualifications

• Significant litigation paralegal experience, preferably in plaintiff-side personal injury or complex civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of Georgia state court litigation procedures and deadlines; federal court experience, particularly in the Northern District of Georgia, strongly preferred.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, court filings, subpoenas, calendaring, and trial preparation.
• Experience with catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, premises liability, commercial vehicle, or other complex litigation preferred.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple active cases.
• Strong written, verbal, and client communication skills, including the ability to work compassionately with clients facing difficult circumstances.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working within established systems in a collaborative small-firm environment.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
