Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas.
• Support cases from inception through trial.

• Review and summarize medical records.
• Coordinate IMEs, depositions, and expert appointments.
• Maintain case calendars and billable time records.

What You Will Do

• Draft and prepare:
• Pleadings
• Discovery demands and responses
• Motions
• Subpoenas
• Settlement documents
• Support litigation matters from inception through trial
• Conduct legal and factual research using LexisNexis and Westlaw
• Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize medical records
• Prepare medical chronologies and case summaries for attorney review
• Coordinate:
• Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs)
• Depositions
• Expert appointments
• Mediation and arbitration logistics
• Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and co-counsel
• Manage case deadlines, filings, and litigation calendars
• Maintain organized case files within document and case management systems
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and trial binders
• Accurately maintain billable time records

Qualifications

• 5 years of litigation support experience required
• Paralegal certificate required
• Defense litigation experience strongly preferred
• Experience with liability, insurance defense, or civil litigation matters preferred
• Knowledge of New York State and Federal Court filing procedures
• Experience with NYSCEF and Federal Court e-filing strongly preferred
• Strong experience reviewing and summarizing medical records
• Proficiency with:
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Case management and document management systems
• LexisNexis and/or Westlaw
• Excellent organizational, proofreading, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Associate's degree or higher preferred
