EMERGE in downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a busy AmLaw 100 firm. The role offers a hybrid schedule, competitive salary, and a collaborative team handling complex litigation, discovery, and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of paralegal experience, a paralegal certificate, and proficiency with ECF, PACER, and Westlaw. This full-time opportunity supports attorneys throughout the entire litigation lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm.
• Paralegal certificate is required.
• Experience supporting civil litigation, product liability, toxic tort or other complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive litigation support to approximately 3–4 attorneys handling toxic tort, product liability and civil litigation matters.
• Assist throughout the litigation lifecycle, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, pretrial proceedings, and trial readiness.
• Draft, prepare, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, notices and other legal documents.
• Manage litigation calendars, monitor court deadlines, and ensure compliance with filing requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience within a law firm; additional experience with complex litigation is highly valued.
• Paralegal certificate required.
• Experience supporting civil litigation, product liability, toxic tort, or other complex litigation matters.
• Proficiency with electronic court filings (ECF), PACER, Westlaw, and litigation document management.
• Strong understanding of discovery processes, court procedures, legal documentation, and litigation deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Trial preparation and trial support experience are highly preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive litigation support to approximately 3–4 attorneys handling toxic tort, product liability, and civil litigation matters.
• Assist throughout the litigation lifecycle, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, pretrial proceedings, and trial readiness.
• Draft, prepare, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, notices, and other legal documents.
• Manage litigation calendars, monitor court deadlines, and ensure compliance with applicable filing requirements and procedures.
• Coordinate discovery processes, organize document productions, and prepare deposition materials, exhibits, and case summaries.
• Conduct legal research using PACER, Westlaw, and other litigation resources to support case development and attorney preparation.
• Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses while collaborating with attorneys on case strategy and preparation.
