The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and court scheduling
- Coordinate and prepare discovery materials, document productions, and exhibits
- Conduct legal and factual research
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors
- Prepare deposition summaries and trial notebooks
- Assist with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Maintain billing time entries and assist with administrative litigation support tasks
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- 3+ years of litigation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and filing systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with document management and e-filing systems required
