Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking an Associate Director of Litigation Marketing for the Business Litigation unit. This role sits in the Marketing and Client Development team, acting as a strategic consultant to practice leadership and bridge to the broader MCD organization.

You will translate marketing plans into actionable briefs, consult on buyer personas, and direct the practice development roadmap. You will lead pitches, manage budgets, mentor staff, and drive cross-functional collaboration to optimize

Qualifications

• 8+ years of applicable experience in the field (e.g., marketing or business development), with 4+ years management experience (some at the senior level preferred).
• Prior professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Plan Translation: Lead the translation of practice-specific marketing plans into detailed briefs for the Campaign Strategy team, ensuring customer journeys deliver BU outcomes.
• Audience & Persona Consultation: Act as the primary consultant for buyer profiles and influencers, providing practice-specific logic for segments.
• Practice Development Roadmap: Direct strategy for practice-building initiatives with Always Ready materials and sales touchpoints.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Partner with MCD leaders to reflect BU priorities in enterprise roadmaps and channel strategies.
• Personalization Logic Strategy: Define triggers and content requirements for practice-level personalization.
• Budget & Sponsorship Stewardship: Oversee BU marketing budget and ROI of sponsorships and spend.
• High-Stakes Narrative Leadership: Lead strategy and narrative development for complex pitches and proposals.
• Optimization Consultation: Interpret dashboard data and recommend strategic shifts.
• People Leader: Supervise and mentor direct reports; manage staffing, time logs, and compliance.
