This full-time role involves drafting documents, calendar management, filing, and client coordination. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of legal assistant experience, strong drafting and communication skills, proficiency with dictation software, and solid MS Office knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior legal assistant experience supporting litigators in civil defense.
• Strong working knowledge in insurance defense and general liability.
• IN State and Federal Court filing, including E-Filing experience.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to use dictation software and a machine.
• Solid analytical and drafting skills.
• Requires critical thinking, superior communication and organizational skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Drafts and prepares correspondence and other documents as required (responses, reports, filings, pleadings, etc.).
• Monitors files and escalates issues requiring attorney involvement.
• Assist attorneys in all aspects of litigation (digital dictation, scheduling, electronic filing, maintaining files).
• Maintains calendar for trial and discovery deadlines; coordinates trial settings and preparation.
• Answers incoming phone calls and routes to proper person.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
