Josephson Dunlap, LLP is seeking a highly organized Legal Assistant to support our litigation team in Houston. This on-site role supports paralegals and attorneys across discovery, depositions, mediation, trial prep, settlement, and closing. Strong detail orientation, multitasking, and confidentiality are essential.

The position offers competitive hourly pay ($22-$26) with overtime, employer-paid benefits, and a Monday–Friday schedule in our Houston office.

Qualifications

• Prior legal assistant, litigation support, or legal administrative experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures while escalating when needed.
• Professional, dependable, proactive approach to supporting a litigation team.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with paralegals, attorneys, and staff.
• Comfort with case-management systems and legal technology.
• Experience with Litify, DocketBird, ECF or similar systems is a plus.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with client information.

Responsibilities

• Case & Litigation Support: manage active matters, deadlines, documents in firm systems.
• Discovery Support: schedule depositions, court reporters and related logistics.
• Trial prep: organize materials, exhibits, witness lists, and attorney materials.
• Settlement & Case Closing: track deadlines, signatures, and closing procedures.
• Team Collaboration: coordinate with paralegals, attorneys, and staff; ensure timely updates.
