Job summary

Gurstel Law Firm, P.C. in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Law Clerk to support attorneys with substantive federal and state law research, drafting memoranda and pleadings, and attending court proceedings when needed.

You will conduct research, draft and generate motions, monitor litigation, and assist with contract reviews and settlement preparations in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. This role offers growth opportunities for a student or graduate interested in litigation.

Qualifications

• Current law student or graduate with Civil Procedure knowledge.
• Experience with Westlaw or Lexis preferred.
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with legal research and draft memoranda for attorney review.
• Draft and file motions and pleadings for state and federal court.
• Monitor litigation files through final adjudication.
• Prepare settlement agreements and review contracts for relevant provisions.
• Assist with trial preparation, depositions, mediation, and arbitration.
• Attend court hearings with attorneys when available.
