Job summary

Interactive Brokers, a leading electronic broker, seeks a litigation attorney with trial experience to join the General Counsel office. The role focuses on securities and commodities disputes for broker‑dealers, based in the Chicago, IL area, with a hybrid arrangement (4 days in office, 1 day remote).

Candidates should have 7+ years post‑J.D. experience, strong courtroom/arbitration background, and comfort with technology including AI tools.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of post-J.D. experience as a litigator at a law firm, financial services regulatory agency, exchange, broker‑dealer or FCM.
• Preference for on‑your‑feet court/arbitration experience.
• Preference for familiarity with securities, futures and broker‑dealer issues.
• Bar membership in good standing in any US state or DC.
• Strong academic background.
• Comfort with computers/technology and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Represent the firm in arbitration and other disputes (with/without outside counsel).
• Coordinate with outside counsel on court actions.
• Represent firm employees in third‑party proceedings.
• Advise on pre‑litigation matters.
• Draft agreements and disclosures; review account documentation and website materials.
• Investigate and provide analysis on IBKR platform issues including trade execution, anti‑fraud, and cybersecurity.
