Responsibilities

Represent the insured before the assigned court and present witnesses and evidence.
Analyze complex legal issues and develop defense strategies.
Prepare pleadings, discovery, motions and briefs for defense.
Handle full trial and/or appeals activities.
Communicate with clients and claims professionals on legal matters.
Use independent judgment, research, and analytical skills.
Assist in training materials and seminars for the Claims Department.
Collaborate with Claims and Litigation on special projects.
Maintain court communications and conduct in line with procedures.
Ensure prompt, efficient disposition of cases.
Keep current with market trends; attend continuing legal education.
