Novus Executives seeks a Litigation Counsel to join its in-house team north of Houston. You will run your own caseload of environmental and commercial disputes, setting strategy and driving matters through to resolution.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in civil disputes, strong courtroom experience, and the ability to explain legal risk in business terms within a large international legal function. Travel within the US is possible.

Qualifikationen

• Three or more years in civil disputes.
• Strong courtroom exposure including trial work.
• Experience guiding external law firms and managing budgets.
• Background in private practice, in-house, or government agency.
• Ability to explain legal risk in business terms.
• Willingness to travel within the US occasionally.

Aufgaben

• Run your own caseload of disputes from early assessment through to trial and appeal.
• Lead cases yourself and set strategy across matters.
• Steer external law firms on approach and cost, and enforce budgets.
• Draft and refine court filings and key case papers.
• Advise the business on incidents, contractual indemnities, and insurance questions.
• Keep senior lawyers and operational leaders updated on case status.
• Collaborate with deal and commercial lawyers, legal operations team and paralegals on disclosures.
