Paragon Legal Group seeks an experienced litigation attorney for its in-house support team in California. The role focuses on high-volume general tort matters, including premises liability, slip-and-fall, personal injury, and motor vehicle claims.
You will handle early-stage litigation, pleadings, and CMCS, while coordinating with outside counsel as cases progress. The position is a six- to twelve-month project starting in January, offering roughly 20 hours per week and the option to work
A large California utility company is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to support its in-house legal team with increased workload and overflow litigation matters in the new year. The attorney will primarily support a high-volume general tort portfolio, including premises liability, slip-and-fall, personal injury, and motor vehicle accident claims. The team is looking to bring more early-stage litigation work in-house to streamline case management, improve efficiency, and reduce reliance on outside counsel.
The attorney will be responsible for independently managing matters through the early stages of litigation, including drafting and reviewing initial pleadings, preparing answers and court filings, communicating directly with opposing counsel regarding claims and settlement demands, negotiating early resolutions, and handling initial Case Management Conferences (CMCs). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on California civil litigation experience, preferably with a background in general tort or insurance defense, and be comfortable managing multiple active matters with minimal supervision. Cases progressing into substantive discovery or trial will transition to outside counsel.
This project is expected to begin in early January for an estimated 6–12+ month duration, requiring approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of scaling up based on business needs. The position can be fully remote, but candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in California. Candidates available to work onsite in the Bay Area are a plus.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $115 and $125. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
