Mblh is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3–5 years of post-articles experience to join our active litigation team in Somerset West and Stellenbosch. The role focuses on handling civil litigation matters, drafting pleadings and managing client relationships, while working independently within a supportive firm.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' post-articles experience in litigation.
• Proven civil litigation and dispute resolution experience.
• Strong drafting and legal research abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through to conclusion.
• Provide clients with clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, pleadings, notices and affidavits.
• Draft and review legal correspondence and court documents.
• Attend consultations with clients and provide regular updates on their matters.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, mediations and other proceedings.
• Prepare matters for trial, including discovery and briefing counsel.
• Liaise with advocates, clients, experts and opposing attorneys.
• Manage deadlines and caseloads efficiently.
• Develop strong relationships with clients.
