Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of the Delaware State Bar.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury and/or medical malpractice, but any significant litigation experience will work.
• Strong trial experience or significant exposure to trial preparation.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• A compassionate, client-centered approach combined with strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of medical malpractice litigation from case evaluation and intake through discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Retain, prepare, and examine medical experts on standard of care, causation, and damages.
• Analyze medical records, expert reports, and hospital/provider documentation to build compelling liability and damages narratives.
• Depose treating physicians, expert witnesses, and fact witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and dispositive motions specific to medical malpractice claims, including affidavits and certificates of merit.
• Lead negotiations and represent clients in mediation or arbitration.
• Try cases to verdict when trial is what's best for the client, with real first-chair opportunity as you grow.
• Serve as a steady, compassionate advocate for clients navigating a difficult and emotional process.

A highly respected Delaware litigation firm with a strong track record of securing significant verdicts and settlements is seeking a talented Litigation Attorney ready to advance their career. The opportunity offers a $200,000–$300,000 base salary plus performance bonuses and the chance to handle high-stakes medical malpractice litigation. Medical malpractice experience is not required—strong litigation experience and a passion for trial work are what matter most.

What You'll Do
