Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation/Personal Injury Attorney to join our law firm. In this role, you will provide legal counsel, perform legal research, draft documents, and update and maintain files. You will work closely with administrative staff, other colleagues, and senior partners to provide excellent legal services to our clients. If you are a self-starter with a passion for law, we want to hear from you.

License/Certification

NJ Bar (NJ Required; NY Bar is a plus)

Job Type

Full-time, 8 am to 5 pm (8-hour shift). Weekends may be required, especially at the beginning of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contracts, complaints, answers, forms, briefs, and motions, in addition to other court/client correspondence
• Conduct interviews, depositions, and trials
• Conduct complex legal research
• Prepare for and attend legal proceedings
• Provide legal counsel
• Negotiate on behalf of clients
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records
• Supervise paralegals and administrative assistants

Qualifications

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Litigation/Personal Injury
• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients
• Ability to handle a high caseload
• Detail-oriented, organized, and quick
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred; Portuguese is a plus
• Experience with Landlord/Tenant, Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Family Law (divorce, child support, custody, TRO, etc.), and/or other areas of law
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Ability to work cases either independently or as part of a team, to develop case strategies
• MUST have a driver's license and be computer literate.
