Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Litigation Attorney to join our Mercer Island, WA team. The attorney will handle pre-litigation and litigation matters related to real estate, title, mortgages, foreclosure, evictions, and creditor's rights, with flexibility for remote work but primarily Seattle-area based.

The role requires JD, WA bar admission, and about five years of litigation experience; strong communication and ability to manage complex caseloads.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of Washington; Oregon or Idaho license is a plus.
• Five years of litigation experience preferred; strong interest in real estate or mortgage law considered.
• Knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, evictions, and creditor's rights preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Maintain an hourly billing requirement of 1920 hours annually.
• Must reside in Washington or another footprint state and be available for in-person hearings in WA.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and eviction cases from inception to completion, including trial.
• Oversee pre-litigation cases and clear title to real property.
• Develop and seek approval for budgets and legal strategies.
• Research and prepare legal analysis on claims, risk, exposure, and strategies.
• Draft and argue pleadings and motions.
• Conduct all aspects of discovery.
• Develop and implement case strategy with supervising partner and client; communicate directly with clients.
• Attend court hearings, mediation, and settlement conferences via phone, video, and in person.
• Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed.
