The Opportunity

A highly regarded California litigation boutique is expanding its Los Angeles team and is seeking talented Commercial Litigation Attorneys at the associate and counsel levels.

The practice handles sophisticated business disputes, partnership and shareholder matters, trade secret litigation, unfair competition claims, fiduciary duty disputes, and other complex commercial controversies for companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and high-net-worth individuals.

Attorneys benefit from a lean staffing model that provides significant hands-on responsibility, direct client engagement, and meaningful courtroom experience from day one.

Responsibilities

• Manage substantive portions of high-value commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and strategic case analyses.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Handle discovery strategy and execution.
• Participate in mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Work closely with partners on case strategy and client counselling.
• Develop strong client-facing and business development skills.

Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of litigation experience with a focus on commercial disputes.
• Meaningful experience handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and case management.
• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities.
• Desire to build a long-term litigation career within an entrepreneurial platform.

Counsel Level

• Extensive commercial litigation background.
• Portable business preferred.
• Attorneys with exceptional credentials or niche expertise may be considered even if their portable practice is still developing.

Academic Background

Preferred qualifications include:

• JD from a top-tier law school. T14 preferred but top 50 considered.
• Exceptional academic performance.
• Federal judicial clerkship experience is advantageous.
