Job summary

Orion Placement in Fort Wright, Kentucky is seeking a licensed attorney to represent clients in litigation across Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. You will manage an active caseload, draft motions, and coordinate with fellow attorneys to develop strategy.

The role offers a hybrid schedule after training, with two days remote and three days in the office, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Ohio Bar license required.
  • 1+ year of litigation experience required.
  • Admission in Kentucky, West Virginia, and/or Indiana is strongly preferred, or the ability to promptly obtain admission where applicable.
  • U.S. District Court admission in applicable jurisdictions, or ability to obtain, is preferred.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working effectively as part of a team.
  • Real estate, foreclosure, creditors' rights, FDCPA, secured creditor, or bankruptcy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation hearings throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
  • Manage an active caseload while meeting monthly performance and case management goals.
  • Draft motions, discovery responses, briefs, appellate briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide practical guidance that helps manage risk and liability.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and business partners.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings and other litigation proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals to develop efficient, effective case strategies.
  • Help coordinate legal matters and contribute to the success of the broader team.
  • Travel to court as needed using reliable transportation.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, organization, and client service.

Location:

Fort Wright, Kentucky, with a flexible hybrid work model after training. Our attorneys typically enjoy 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office, with flexibility based on court hearings, audits, and business needs.

Note:

To be considered, you must be an active member in good standing with the Ohio Bar and have at least 1 year of litigation experience. Strong candidates with more directly relevant litigation experience are especially encouraged to apply.
