Burnett Specialists Staffing | Recruiting is seeking three civil litigation attorneys with broad commercial backgrounds for a growing practice in Arlington and Houston, with Austin as a possible location. This is a direct hire, 100% in-office role offering up to $300,000 DOE.

The successful attorney will manage matters from evaluation through trial, work directly with clients and leadership, and have clear opportunities for leadership and partnership for top performers.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and TX Bar in good standing.
• 7–10 years of civil litigation experience in TX state or federal courts.
• Strong legal research, writing, deposition and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage complex litigation and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide practical legal advice to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Mentor junior attorneys and litigation support staff.
• Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives.

Minimum qualifications

• 7 - 10 years of Civil Litigation experience to join GROWING litigation practice
• Commercial disputes, construction, real estate, labor and employment, insurance, business law
• Trial or first-chair hearing experience preferred
• Existing professional network or demonstrated ability to develop client relationships preferred
• Experience representing businesses, developers, builders, contractors, insurers, or commercial clients preferred
• 150 billable hours per month and Partnership-track opportunities
• For Houston, the firm has plenty of business and seeks an ambitious attorney who feels stalled or underutilized and wants greater influence, leadership, and the opportunity to help SHAPE and GROW the office.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys managing complex litigation while building long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will handle matters from initial case evaluation through trial, arbitration, or resolution and will work directly with clients and firm leadership.

• Other complex civil litigation matters

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide practical legal advice to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including electronic discovery where appropriate.
• Work directly with clients to understand business objectives and provide timely communication.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
• Mentor junior attorneys and litigation support staff.
• Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• 7-10 years of civil litigation experience.
• Significant experience in Texas state and/or federal courts.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience.
• Exceptional organizational and case management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding client service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing businesses, developers, builders, contractors, insurers, or commercial clients.
• Trial or first-chair hearing experience.
