Compensation: $120,000-$275,000+ base, DOE, plus annual billable bonus

C&M Legal Search is recruiting five or more litigation associates for a growing Texas civil defense firm in their Austin office, and also open to their Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, Texas offices. The firm has approximately 100 attorneys and represents corporations, insurance carriers, businesses, and commercial clients throughout Texas and nationwide. Due to a significant increase in matters, the firm is hiring both experienced litigators and junior attorneys seeking hands‑on training and long‑term growth. UNLIMITED PTO. 401K MATCH. FULL BENEFITS.
Responsibilities
- Manage an active general liability and insurance defense caseload
- Handle automobile liability, premises liability, personal injury defense, general casualty, and related civil defense matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal research, and client reports
- Prepare clients, insureds, and witnesses for depositions
- Take and defend depositions based on experience level
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Coordinate with medical experts, treating physicians, and other consultants
- Develop litigation strategy with shareholders and assigning attorneys
- Conduct settlement negotiations and provide timely case updates
- Maintain regular communication with clients and insureds
- Oversee legal support staff as appropriate
Qualifications
- Active Texas Bar membership in good standing, or pending bar results for incoming first‑year attorneys
- 0-8+ years of litigation experience
- Insurance defense, automobile liability, premises liability, personal injury defense, general liability, or comparable civil litigation experience preferred
- New and junior attorneys strongly encouraged to apply
- Hands‑on mentorship and training available for attorneys with limited insurance defense experience
- Plaintiff‑side litigation experience may be considered
- Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and client communication skills
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and client expectations
- Willingness to travel throughout Texas as needed
