We seek a litigation attorney who will own their matters, develop strategy, and work closely with clients and experts. Occasional travel may be required as cases span nationwide.

Qualifications

The Difference You Will Make

As a Litigation Attorney at Amborella Law, you won't simply work on pieces of someone else's cases. You will own your matters and help shape their outcomes.

You will evaluate complex claims, develop legal and recovery strategies, work directly with forensic experts, interact with clients and opposing counsel, and move cases through litigation and negotiation.

The matters themselves are rarely routine.

Our nationwide caseload can range from catastrophic losses arising from events such as wildfires and other major disasters to smaller but technically intricate property losses involving challenging questions of causation, liability, and damages.

For an attorney who enjoys solving difficult problems, this creates an opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of litigation, insurance, forensic investigation, and recovery strategy while building a career in a highly specialized area of law.

A Typical Day

There really isn't one—and that’s part of the opportunity.

One day you may be working with a forensic expert to understand the cause of a significant property loss. Another may involve preparing for a deposition, analyzing liability, responding to discovery, negotiating with opposing counsel, or developing the strategy for a case headed toward litigation.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Own Cases from Evaluation Through Resolution: Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of a subrogation matter, including legal evaluation, strategy, litigation, negotiation, and resolution.
• Develop Litigation Strategy: Analyze complex factual and legal issues, assess liability and recovery potential, identify strategic opportunities, and determine how best to advance each matter.
• Collaborate with Forensic Experts: Work closely with forensic professionals investigating losses, determining causation and liability, preserving evidence, and evaluating potential avenues for recovery.
• Litigate & Negotiation: Draft and respond to discovery, take and defend depositions, prepare and argue motions, negotiate settlements, and pursue litigation when appropriate.
• Work Directly with Clients & Counsel: Build productive relationships with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders while providing clear advice and strong advocacy.
• Handle Diverse, Sophisticated Matters: Work on complex insurance claims across the country, including catastrophic losses and technically challenging property-damage matters.
• Exercise Real Judgment: Take ownership of decisions, identify problems before they become obstacles, and develop practical and creative solutions rather than simply following a predetermined playbook.

Your Expertise

We are looking for an attorney who combines strong litigation fundamentals with curiosity, judgment, and a desire to continue developing professionally.

For this role, you should have:

• A J.D. from an accredited law school.
• An active license in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
• At least two years of litigation experience.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters and competing priorities.
• A strategic and solution-oriented approach to litigation.
• The confidence to take ownership while recognizing when collaboration or additional perspective will lead to a better result.
• A collaborative mindset and genuine respect for colleagues at every level of the firm.
• Intellectual curiosity and an interest in learning the technical, forensic, insurance, and business considerations underlying a matter.

Prior subrogation experience is not required. What matters most is having the litigation foundation, judgment, curiosity, and drive to become excellent at it.

Because our matters are nationwide, occasional domestic travel may be required.
