Job summary

The Loch Group is actively seeking a litigation associate in Houston to join an established firm. The role offers meaningful responsibility and more time in court rather than solely doing research and discovery support.

The associate will work with seasoned litigators from the pleadings stage through trial, handling depositions, court appearances, and trial prep. Compensation is base + bonus, with a $220k–$280k target and 1,800 billable hours required for bonus.

Qualifications

• Three to seven years of litigation experience.
• Experience taking or defending depositions.
• Experience appearing in court and attending or arguing hearings.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and substantive briefing.

Responsibilities

• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings.
• Appear in court and assist with trial preparation and strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and substantive briefing.
• Manage cases from pleading stage through trial and post‑trial work.
