Job summary

The Loch Group is actively seeking a litigation associate in Houston to join an established firm. The role offers meaningful responsibility and more time in court rather than solely doing research and discovery support.

The associate will work with seasoned litigators from the pleadings stage through trial, handling depositions, court appearances, and trial prep. Compensation is base + bonus, with a $220k–$280k target and 1,800 billable hours required for bonus.

Qualifications

Litigation Associate Attorney | 3–7 Years | Houston

The Loch Group is assisting a well-established Houston law firm with the addition of a litigation associate. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility and more time on their feet, rather than remaining behind the scenes handling research and discovery support.

The associate will work directly with experienced litigators and take an active role in cases from the pleading stage through trial. Candidates should already have experience taking and defending depositions, appearing in court, and handling hearings. The position will also involve drafting pleadings and motions, managing written discovery, preparing witnesses, and assisting with trial strategy and preparation.

Compensation is base + bonus with a combined target range of $220-280k, depending on experience. Must bill 1800 hours annually to earn bonus.

Qualifications:

• Three to seven years of litigation experience
• Experience taking or defending depositions
• Experience appearing in court and attending or arguing hearings
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and substantive briefing
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• Experience helping manage cases from beginning to end is a plus
